My Creation

I've made a few scarves, but this one is of my own design.  I love the way it turned out and it was so easy.

I'm learning....

I have learned how to crochet (kind of) and I'm so happy with my latest creation.  The first couple of times I tried to make these slippers were a total FAIL, but on the 3rd try, I did it!!! Yay for me.  I'm so proud of myself right now.
DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT look at those legs.  In my excitement to hurry and get this blog on here, (for all of my readers, ha ha) I failed to notice that my legs are horribly white and in need of about a  quart of lotion!!!
I really learned how to crochet last winter and I made a beautiful afghan that I am very proud of.  I bought the "Learn How To Crochet" beginners book and needles.  Thank Heaven for Youtube, because I could not figure out what the heck the book's directions were telling me to do!!  You can find all kinds of free patterns and tutorials on Youtube.  I found this one by googling slippers and I was able to follow the pattern.  I made a few alterations though, I just fit the slipper to my foot as  I went along until I thought it would be a nice snug fit.

Spice Rack

I made this project for one of my sweet nieces.  I turned an old spice rack into a jewely display.  The before image is not mine.  (I had to borrow it from the internet since my camera was broken at time I started it).  I think it turned out pretty cute.  I just took off the front pieces, painted it, added some hooks for hanging and fabric glued on that beautiful piece of material. Oh, I also painted and added the cute little wood cut out at the top.

My First Blog Ever

So this is my very first blog ever.  I'm so new at it, I don't even have one follower.... Anyway, I'm just excited about how I am turning other peoples JUNK into my treasures as part of my own THERAPY!  Really, I'm just trying to keep from going insane from boredom...

The table below is what I worked on last week.  I'm not finised with all three pieces yet, but at least I've got one down.  My mother found these tables at a yard sale for $60 bucks!!  I know they're not the $3 and $5 dollar pieces some of you find out there, but I still think they were a great find!  They are solid wood and in purrrfect condition.  Just not the finish I wanted for my room.  I did a light sanding on the top with a 220 grade paper and then I stained it using a rag.  I finished off the top with two coats of polyurathane and primered and spray painted the legs a beautiful black.  I think it turned out gorgeous!
